I am the Managing Attorney of the Griggs Law Group, LLC, where I specialize in Business Immigration Law. I guide clients through successfully filing appropriate visas and petitions for their foreign national employees. I also help companies transfer their multinational executives, managers and employees from foreign branches to the U.S. I currently manage a caseload of employment based immigrant and non-immigrant petitions, and have extensive experience in H-1B, L-1A, L-1B, E-2, multinational manager, EB-2, EB-3, EB-5 (investor visas) and Blanket petitions. Since launching my own practice in March 2013, I have also incorporated Family Based Immigration Petitions and Removal Litigation and Deportation Defense cases into my practice.
Prior to forming my own practice, I worked at an International Law Firm practicing Corporate Law, then in the Business Immigration Departments of a midsize Law Firm and a Boutique Business Immigration Firm. Since practicing in the field of Immigration, my forte has always been working on extremely challenging cases. I often work with companies who have previously experienced roadblocks or denials for visa applications, and I have successfully gotten their cases approved with ease. I have also worked successfully on numerous Notices of Intent to Deny/Revoke [this is when the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service (“USCIS”) threatens to revoke or deny the work authorization of a foreign national professional, executive or employee, usually for substantive deficiencies in the company’s operations, documents, financial resources, or suspected fraud). I have a track record of almost 100% approval for all my cases.
Why I Do What I Do?
The answer is simple. I enjoy helping companies experiencing difficulties obtaining approvals for employment-based visas successfully navigate the requirements of USCIS and Consular Posts. I also enjoy helping foreign nationals walk a smooth path through the U.S. Immigration System.
Having personally been through the Immigration System myself – from a foreign national student at Yale University and Harvard Law School, to a Permanent Resident and then, a U.S. Citizen, Immigration Law is of special significance to me. The pathway was not always clear and I experienced certain bumps along the way that left an indelible impression on me. As a foreign national student at Yale University, I had the unfortunate experience of having US Immigration Officials threaten to deny my re-entry into the United State, through no fault of my own. Thankfully, a higher officer’s review led to my being granted re-entry as they realized there was no error on my part or deficiencies. Then, as a first year law student at Harvard, I had the surreal experience of a Consular Officer contacting me to insist that I leave Harvard Law School immediately to return to my home country to renew my student visa, which the Consulate made it clear I was not likely to receive.
My personal immigration experiences have never left me. They propel what I do today and imbue me with a level of commitment to client advocacy that is unsurpassable. I am a relentless advocate for my clients because I understand that the desired end result is a straight approval – not a Request for Evidence (“RFE”) or second-guessing by USCIS officials. And I settle for nothing less.
I have also developed a profound understanding of the needs of companies that hire foreign national workers or require the global mobility of their international executives and employees. I love the work that I do and pride myself of doing it well. I am confident that I can help you accomplish you immigration goals and I customize my approach for every company, because every company and every business is unique. Contact me today. I look forward to working with you.
